Hi there! I am Ron
ABOUT ME: Photography has been a lifelong passion of mine. You would be hard pressed to find me without a camera, always looking to capture the next moment in time. Following a degree in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), I enjoyed a 30-year career in the photo industry working for: Polaroid, FUJIFILM, Getty Images, and iStockphoto.
To me, every image captures a unique moment in time. Sometimes the image remains unchanged and other times it morphs into an abstraction. Some of my photographs are as captured, replicating the natural light, color, and mood of that unique moment. Others are my creative expressions and extensions of that moment.
One of my favorite subjects is the peak of the Annual Cherry Blossom season in Washington, D.C. (which I photographed every year for over 10 years). Other favorites are rural scenes, in general, and the American Southwest. The beauty of the monuments in Washington, D.C. and the tidal basin combined with the magnificence of the cherry trees is simply a sight that has to be seen. And the southwest has so much spectacular scenery that it is a photographer’s dream. The images attest to these unique moments and beautiful views, while some serves as an expression of my creative license. Take a few minutes and surround yourself with one of the great wonders of Washington and some of the amazing beauty this country has to offer.
THE PROCESS: I control the creative process from start to finish, capturing, editing, and printing the photo. All of my prints are Giclée*, meaning they are a permanent print using 100% cotton/rag inkjet paper and pigment inks. Most inkjet dyes fade, but pigment inks are permanent. These prints are considered archival and will last generations if properly displayed.
I use a unique, textured, 100% cotton glossy paper with a metallic coating that adds to the viewing experience, so much that, like a painting, I no longer put glass in front of the framed print to enhance your viewing experience. The results are stunning, seeing is believing!
PRINTS: While my website contains medium resolution JPEGs, ALL prints are made from the full HIGH resolution files that range in size from 60 megabytes to as much as, in some cases, over a gigabyte! I am constantly adding new galleries, as well as new content to existing galleries. Please check back periodically to see my newest work. I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I did creating them.

* Giclée (/ʒiːˈkleɪ/ zhee-KLAY) is a neologism, ultimately derived from the French word gicleur, coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art prints made using inkjet printers The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on a modified Iris printer in a process invented in the late 1980s. It has since been used widely to mean any fine-art printing, usually archival, printed by inkjet. It is often used by artists, galleries, and print shops for their high-quality printing, but is also used generically for art printing of any quality. (Source: Wikipedia)
